Beyond Talking

It is with some disbelief that I have to acknowledge over 30 years of involvement with health care in the NHS, Privately and personally: as SRN, GP Counsellor, Hospital Human Givens Psychotherapist and Mother. Historically this involvement has enabled me to look at well-being through many different lenses - from the 'science' to the 'art' of traditional medicine, to 'complementary' and 'alternative', to cultural, philosophical, metaphysical, spiritual, religious and energetic understandings of health and well-being.

It is with great relief that I would now say that 'all roads lead to the same destination' or desire for health and well-being, but that the description, expectation and experience of the destination and the road chosen to get there remains entirely personal, uniquely emotional and, for most of us, beyond talking.

The single thread that has pulled me through this vast and often confusing array of possibilities is the drive to focus clearly upon the ageless concept of 'the wholeness of health'. Jane Smith

Professionally I have skills and trainings in Counselling (Person Centred), Human Givens Psychotherapy, Coaching, NLP (Master) and Trauma Reprocessing (CBT, EMDR and TIR). I also embrace and have trainings in transpersonal and 'complimentary health' treatments that may be helpful as additional choices in our quest for wellbeing.

Personally I have a life long interest and curiosity about 'the meaning of life', what it is 'to be a human being' and the transforming quality of healthy loving relationships. I have a deeply held trust and experience of personal transformation through the quiet acceptance of the 'wholeness' of our natures and our innate ability to help each other help ourselves. I enjoy observing life and the natural world.
